Redbarn Apparel, a trading name of Redline Commerce LLC, operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Redbarn Apparel is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.
We sell and ship only within the United States.
Personal Information We Collect or Process
When we use the term "personal information," we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified, so that it cannot identify or be reasonably linked to you. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, including inferences drawn from it, depending on how you interact with the Services and as permitted or required by applicable law:
- Contact details including your name, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
- Payment information. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. Card details are entered directly into our payment processor, Shopify Payments, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. We receive only the form of payment, the last four digits of the card, the transaction amount, payment confirmation, and the billing address associated with the transaction.
- Transaction information including the items you view, put in your cart, or purchase, return or cancel, and your past transactions with us.
- Communications with us including the information you include when you email or call our customer service team.
- Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.
- Usage information including information regarding your interaction with the Services, such as which pages you visit, how you navigate the site, and session recordings (see Cookies and Tracking Technologies below).
We offer guest checkout only and do not operate customer accounts, so we do not collect usernames, passwords, or security questions.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following cookies and tracking technologies on this website. This is the complete list as of the date above:
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Shopify essential cookies | Cart contents, checkout, security, and core site function. These cannot be switched off without breaking the store. |
| Shopify analytics | Aggregate traffic and sales reporting |
| Google Analytics 4 | Understanding how visitors use the site |
| Google Ads conversion tracking | Measuring which advertisements lead to purchases |
| Meta Pixel | Measuring advertising performance and delivering targeted advertising on Meta platforms |
| Microsoft Clarity | Session recordings and heatmaps, used to find usability problems |
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent the store from functioning correctly. To opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising, see Your Rights and Choices below.
We will update this list whenever we add or remove a tool.
Personal Information Sources
We may collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you including when you visit or use the Services, place an order, or communicate with us;
- Automatically through the Services including from your device when you visit our website, and through the use of cookies and similar technologies;
- From our service providers including when we engage them to enable certain technology and when they collect or process your personal information on our behalf;
- From our advertising partners in the form of measurement and attribution data.
How We Use Your Personal Information
- Provide, tailor, and improve the Services. To perform our contract with you, process your payments, fulfill and ship your orders, process returns and cancellations, respond to your enquiries, and improve how the store works.
- Marketing and advertising. To send promotional emails where you have signed up for them, and to show you online advertisements for our products on other websites, including based on items you have previously viewed or added to your cart.
- Security and fraud prevention. To provide a secure payment and shopping experience, and to detect, investigate or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal, unsafe, or malicious activity.
- Communicating with you. To provide customer support and to keep you informed about your order.
- Legal reasons. To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.
How We Disclose Personal Information
In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy:
- With Shopify, and with vendors and other third parties who perform services on our behalf (payment processing, order tracking, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfillment and shipping).
- With advertising and marketing partners, including Google and Meta, to measure our advertising and to show you advertisements based on your activity across different websites. These partners use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. Under California and several other state privacy laws, this activity is considered "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising, and in some states may be considered a "sale," even though we receive no money for it. You can opt out at any time — see Your Rights and Choices below.
- When you direct, request, or otherwise consent to our disclosure of certain information to third parties, such as to ship you your order.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with any applicable legal obligations (including responding to subpoenas, search warrants and similar requests), to enforce any applicable terms of service or policies, and to protect or defend the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or others.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not disclose personal information of anyone we know to be under 16 for targeted advertising.
Relationship with Shopify
The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve the Services for you. Information you submit to the Services will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify, as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide and improve the Services.
In addition, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, we use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over its use for these purposes.
To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. You may exercise certain rights directly with Shopify at the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Third Party Websites and Links
The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on them. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement.
Children's Data
The Services are not intended for or directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.
As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" (as those terms are defined in applicable law) the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Security and Retention of Your Information
We protect information in transit using SSL/TLS encryption, and our payment processing is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to send sensitive or confidential information to us.
How long we keep your information:
- Order and transaction records — 7 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations
- Customer service correspondence — 3 years from the last contact
- Marketing email subscriptions — until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we do not contact you again
- Website analytics and session recordings — up to 26 months
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on the state you live in, you may have some or all of the rights below. These rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances, and in certain cases we may decline a request as permitted by law.
- Right to Access / Know. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right of Portability. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to transfer it to a third party, in certain circumstances and with certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing for Targeted Advertising. You may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, or of processing for "targeted advertising," as those terms are defined in applicable state privacy laws.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you, or charge you a different price, for exercising any of these rights.
How to opt out of sale or sharing
You have three ways, and you do not need to create an account, provide identification, or verify your email address to use any of them:
- Use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. This is our own opt-out mechanism and it takes effect immediately.
- Email info@redbarnapparel.com with the word "Opt Out." We will action it without asking you to verify who you are.
- Visit our website with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal enabled in your browser. Where applicable law requires it, we automatically treat this as an opt-out request for that browser and device. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
We do not recognize other "Do Not Track" signals, as there is no common standard for them.
Exercising your other rights
For access, deletion, correction, or portability requests, contact us using the details below. Because these requests involve disclosing or erasing information, we may need to verify your identity first, as permitted or required under applicable law. We do not require identity verification for opt-out requests.
You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. Before accepting such a request, we will require proof that you have authorized the agent to act for you, and we may need to verify your identity directly with you.
We will respond to your request within the time required by applicable law, which in most states is 45 days, extendable once where permitted.
Managing marketing emails
We may send you promotional emails if you have signed up for them. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails about orders you have placed.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we process your personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will investigate. Depending on where you live, you may have a right to appeal our decision — contact us again and we will review it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Attorney General of your state.
International Transfers
We sell and ship only within the United States. However, some of our service providers, including Shopify, may store or process your personal information in countries other than the United States. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on this page, update the "Last updated" date, and provide notice as required by applicable law.
